Taking inspiration from the natural beauty of his native Finland, design legend Alvar Aalto created iconic home design pieces that are functional and sculptural. In the decades since winning the 1937 Paris World Fair, Aalto's flowing wave ("aalto" in Finnish) shape has become a timeless symbol of Scandinavian interior design. Each unique vase is first mouthblown. Then pieces are hand cut before going through several polishings at the Iittala Glass Factory. The world famous Aalto vase is a striking piece of home design.
